Bristol Myers Squibb announced on August 10, 2026, that it will build a new multi-modal manufacturing campus at Generation Park in Houston, Texas. The company stated the project represents a $2.3 billion investment and will occupy 600,000 square feet of space designed for small molecules, biologics, and antibody-drug conjugates. The facility is intended to support drug product and finished goods manufacturing from late development through launch, with a modular design that allows for the reconfiguration of capacity.

Bristol Myers Squibb expects the project to generate approximately 2,000 construction and indirect jobs between 2027 and 2030. The company selected Texas after evaluating multiple markets in the Central and Eastern U.S., citing local workforce strength, incentives, proximity to utilities and transportation, and business climate as key factors.
Bristol Myers Squibb said this investment is part of a broader $40 billion commitment to invest in the United States over five years across research and development, technology, and domestic manufacturing. The company noted it currently works with a contract manufacturer in Texas for commercial and clinical trial manufacturing and had 250 clinical trial sites in the state in 2025. The release noted that the U.S. biopharmaceutical industry drives nearly $117 billion of research annually and employed more than one million workers directly in 2022. The industry has an employment multiplier of 4.69, supporting more than 3.8 million additional jobs for a total impact of more than 4.9 million jobs. More than 300,000 manufacturing employees work in the U.S. biopharmaceutical sector. Bristol Myers Squibb invested approximately $10 billion in research and development in 2025.
