Amazon announced on June 15, 2026, that it will invest $10 billion to build a new data center campus in Montgomery County, Missouri. The company made the announcement at a press conference with community, economic development, and utility partners, stating the project is expected to create over 400 full-time data center jobs and thousands of construction jobs.

The campus will be located in Montgomery County, where Amazon stated it will pay 100% of the costs for electric service, including grid connection costs, and confirmed it received no incentives or discounts on electric rates. The company worked with Ameren Missouri on the electric service arrangements.
Montgomery County officials estimated the investment will generate hundreds of millions of dollars in new property tax revenue over the next 25 years. Amazon committed over $7 million in community contributions, including $3 million to support emergency dispatch services in Montgomery County, over $1 million for a new community gathering space at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds, and an additional $3 million for community programs. The company also launched a $150,000 Community Fund to provide grants for local projects.
Amazon stated it is working with Arable Labs to implement technology for Missouri farmers aimed at improving irrigation efficiency and reducing groundwater withdrawals, which the company said is expected to reduce water use by 100 million gallons. Amazon has been present in Missouri since 2017 and currently employs over 10,000 Missourians across fulfillment centers, sortation centers, delivery stations, Rural Super Rural delivery stations, and Whole Foods Market locations.
