The U.S. Army Contracting Command-Redstone Arsenal awarded contract W9124P-26-C-A020 to Amca on October 8, 2026. The firm-fixed-price agreement establishes an enterprise-wide partnership to support the U.S. Army Materiel Command through rapid engineering and component manufacturing.
What it means
This award marks the first Active Capability Gap initiative under the Army Advanced Manufacturing Commercial Solutions Opening program. The partnership is designed to regenerate obsolete parts and create new manufacturing capacity where original suppliers have disappeared or cannot fulfill demand. Initial efforts will target radar and power assemblies for a priority missile system, addressing challenges such as long lead times and incomplete engineering data.
Jai Malik stated, “The Army deserves an industrial supply chain that delivers at the speed, scale, and quality its mission demands.” Amca plans to reduce production and sustainment costs by simplifying designs and improving manufacturability. All work will be performed in the United States, with engineering and qualification testing conducted at the company’s headquarters in El Segundo, California. Production will scale across eight AS9100D- and ISO 9001-certified factories that have operated continuously for an average of five decades and maintain an on-time delivery rate of over 99%. The contract allows for the addition of other critical items, including power supplies, connectors, actuators, valves, and radar system components.
