The Department of War and Honeywell Aerospace announced a framework agreement on March 25, 2026. The agreement aims to surge production of critical munitions components. The Department provided long-term, stable demand for critical munitions. Demand signals unlocked a $500 million multi-year investment from Honeywell Aerospace for modernizing and expanding manufacturing capacity.

What it means

The agreement is an outcome of the Department’s Acquisition Transformation Strategy. The strategy empowers direct engagement with key suppliers to increase production capacity across the supply chain. Honeywell Aerospace will accelerate delivery of components for precision munitions guidance, missile maneuverability, and electronic warfare. The components include navigation systems, Honeywell Assure™ actuators, and electronic warfare solutions.

The Department’s Munitions Acceleration Council collaborated with industry leaders Lockheed Martin and RTX. The collaboration ensures demand signals flow to critical suppliers like Honeywell Aerospace. Michael Duffey, Under Secretary of War for Acquisition and Sustainment, said, “Our strategy is to provide the long-term demand signals that unlock private investment, and this half-billion-dollar commitment from Honeywell Aerospace demonstrates we are succeeding.” He added, “Thanks to the leadership of President Trump and Secretary Hegseth, we are building the deep and dominant Arsenal of Freedom our nation requires by ensuring our entire industrial base can deliver at speed and scale.”
