Governor Josh Stein announced that ProVia LLC will invest $120 million to construct a new window manufacturing facility in Mocksville, North Carolina. The Ohio-based building products company said the project will create 400 jobs in Davie County with an average annual salary of $66,326. The state’s Economic Investment Committee approved a Job Development Investment Grant for the project on August 25, 2026.
What it means
The Mocksville site will add 580,000 square feet of space dedicated to a new window production line. ProVia said the facility will serve the southeastern United States and will be the company’s 10th location. The company currently operates nine locations and employs more than 3,000 people, producing doors, windows, siding, stone, and roofing products for dealers and distributors in the residential construction industry.
The JDIG agreement authorizes potential reimbursement to ProVia of up to $3,280,500 spread over a 12-year term. State payments are contingent on annual performance verification by the departments of Commerce and Revenue regarding incremental job creation and investment targets. The Economic Investment Committee estimated the project will grow the state’s economy by $1 billion over the grant term. The projected return on investment of public dollars is 73 percent, meaning the state receives $1.73 in revenue for every dollar of potential cost. Up to $1,093,500 from the agreement will be moved into the state’s Industrial Development Fund – Utility Account to help rural communities finance infrastructure upgrades. Davie County is classified as Tier 3 in the state’s economic tier system.
