SIMONA AMERICA Industries (SAI) held a groundbreaking ceremony for a $25 million expansion at its thermoplastic sheet and rod manufacturing facility in Archbald, Pennsylvania, in Lackawanna County. The project will add 155,000 square feet of manufacturing space and a new SL12 production line, with completion scheduled for early third quarter of 2026. SAI is a subsidiary of SIMONA AMERICA Group, which is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, and itself a subsidiary of SIMONA AG.
What it means
The expansion will bring more than 25 new jobs in manufacturing, shipping, and logistics to the Archbald facility and introduce advanced extrusion and fabrication technologies. The new SL12 line is intended to enhance SAI’s capabilities in partition materials and other performance thermoplastics. The Archbald site has access to rail and interstate systems. SIMONA AMERICA Group operates manufacturing sites in Pennsylvania and Ohio in addition to the Archbald plant.
Adam Mellen, CEO of SIMONA AMERICA Group, said the investment is aimed at expanding production capacity, introducing new technologies, and serving customers with what he described as innovative, high-quality materials.
