TMEIC Corporation Americas opened its new Twinwood manufacturing facility in Waller County, Texas, on September 15, 2026. The 280,000-square-foot site is the company’s third U.S. manufacturing location and its largest global operation among 13 facilities worldwide. The plant will initially create more than 200 jobs in the greater Houston area, with employment projected to reach 500 positions as production scales.
What it means
The facility focuses on industrial-scale uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units for data centers, high-power medium-voltage drives, and advanced power electronics. These products serve the artificial intelligence, infrastructure, and energy sectors. TMEIC Corporation Americas operates as a group company of TMEIC Corporation in Japan, adding this site to its existing U.S. manufacturing footprint that includes facilities in Westport and Katy.
The Twinwood site features a client training center and technology laboratories. It began operations with on-site solar power generation and a battery energy storage system, aligning with the company’s stated goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. TMEIC Corporation Americas maintains its North American headquarters in the Houston Energy Corridor and holds office operations in Roanoke, Virginia. The company specializes in renewable energy, metals, port solutions, oil and gas, mining, paper, and water and wastewater technologies.
Kensuke Miyano described the opening as an important milestone in the company’s history. Manmeet Bhatia noted that the facility launches with solar and battery storage to honor environmental commitments. To mark the occasion, TMEIC made donations to United Way Houston and Habitat for Humanity. This expansion follows similar industrial growth across the region, including recent investments by Hitachi Energy in Mississippi and broader advances in U.S. manufacturing projects.
