Heniff Transportation Systems will develop a sweetener transload terminal just outside Jeffersonville, Ohio, for Cargill Inc. and its customers. Heniff Food Grade will develop and operate the facility, with construction scheduled to start before the end of 2026. The terminal will provide storage, transloading and distribution for Cargill sweetener products serving the consumer packaged goods industry.
What it means
The Ohio terminal will offer product storage, rail transloading, bulk trucking and tank-washing services. It will connect with Genesee & Wyoming’s Indiana & Ohio Railway, which has links to Class I railroads, and the site will have access to Interstate 70 and Interstate 71.
Cargill managing director of Food North America Sarah Jelken said the facility will support customers in the Ohio River Valley. The release said the terminal will handle a large annual volume of sweetener-related products but did not state a specific capacity.
