ARCO Design/Build on Oct. 22 broke ground in Hagerstown, Maryland, for a 355,000-square-foot advanced manufacturing facility serving Jamison Door Company and BMP Group. The building is the opening phase of a planned 58-acre North American manufacturing campus. Construction is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2028, and production is set to follow soon afterward.
What it means
The Hagerstown plant is intended to accommodate Jamison Door Company’s expansion and bring production for certain BMP Group brands from Europe into the United States. The facility is to include automated systems, research-and-development space and product-testing capabilities.
The site will manufacture cold-storage doors, high-speed roll-up doors, dock levelers and aircraft hangar doors. Those specialty access systems serve food and beverage, pharmaceutical, warehousing and aerospace customers. Work on planning a second campus phase has begun.
