ABB announced a $50 million expansion in Selmer, Tennessee, that is projected to create 227 jobs. The company will construct a 120,000-square-foot Industrial Connections & Solutions facility at the Selmer/McNairy County North Industrial Park, beside ABB’s recently completed 325,000-square-foot manufacturing facility. The project is ABB’s second expansion in McNairy County since last year.

What it means

The new ABB facility will produce electrical distribution systems and other electrical products. ABB said it will begin moving about 90% of its equipment and employees to the Selmer manufacturing hub in 2027, with the remaining equipment and employees moving from its current 4th Street location during the second half of 2027.

After the expansion is completed, ABB is expected to employ more than 1,500 people across its Tennessee locations in Selmer, Portland, Athens, Memphis and Mount Juliet. State incentives for the newly announced Selmer expansion have not been disclosed.
